Two Way Radios

Thinking about going out of your comfort zone to try something new?  GOOD FOR YOU!

These motorcycle “6 rider” interphones are open mic which means you don’t have to push a button to talk to your partner.  A bit more expensive ($95-$130 pair) than the midlands (below), but well worth it!  These can be found on Amazon or other internet retailers.  You’ll also have to purchase separate headset – Jabra $20 – $35 a pair – also well worth the price.  Don’t go cheap, you’ll be disappointed.

These radios are small, clear and work well for communicating with your partner! You can find them on amazon or the midland website.  $15-$35 a pair.  Be certain to accessorize with a headset.  I recommend a surveillance headset (unless you’d like to look like Madonna with an over the ear microphone)

The radios come with a belt clip but some umpires like to wear a workout belt to secure the radio. I suggest using lithium batteries instead of rechargeable.  Additionally, use caution when removing the belt clip to insert batteries.  I broke mine within 5 minutes of opening the package:-) do a you tube search and watch the video.  It’s really simple, but not intuitive.
